What we offer
Our BRC Project Grants are intended for BRC members, to pump-prime high-quality studies and provide pilot, proof of concept or de-risking for external funding applications. BRC Project Grant applications must demonstrate the three following key aspects: excellence in science, translational opportunity, and capability to leverage external funding and opportunity.
We offer individual project awards over a maximum two-year period. We accept applications for projects both with and without existing funds in place, however, if the project is already being financially supported in some form, it must be shown what added value the Exeter BRC Project Grant will have – the application form will provide an opportunity to outline this.
We are delighted to have already awarded funds to 28 projects, spread across our five research themes.

When and how to apply
The next round of applications for BRC Project Grants will be announced in early 2025. Please check back on this webpage for details on how to apply closer to the time.
Project Grants will be awarded through a peer-reviewed internal competition review process and feedback will be provided. It should be noted that all projects will undergo review by Public and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) representatives.
