James Bassitt is a Senior Experimental Officer who supports biomedical research using the University of Exeter's VSimulators facility for the Exeter Biomedical Research Centre. With a background in engineering and software development, James uses his skills to translate the concepts of academic researchers and industry collaborators into tangible applications within the VSimulators facility.

In his current capacity, James helps ensure the seamless operation of the facility, maintaining the platform's functionality, creating bespoke motion environments through software development, and facilitating grant applications across diverse disciplines. James also actively participates in pilot data tests, designs and executes tailored experiments for researchers and manages servers and virtual reality equipment to ensure experiments run smoothly. James was involved in the conception and construction of the VSimulators facility, utilising his project management and technical coordination skills. From the initial conceptualisation to the final commissioning and acceptance testing, he navigated the design and installation processes, liaising with multiple stakeholders and suppliers to ensure optimal functionality.
