The University of Exeter’s latest research study, led by Dr. Sonia Medina and funded by the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), is now recruiting participants. This groundbreaking study, titled “Mind the Gap: Steps Towards Precision Rehabilitation in Chronic Pain,” aims to deepen our understanding of how pain and anxiety interact and explore how virtual reality (VR) can help develop personalised therapies for chronic pain management.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Adults aged 18+ with chronic back pain (lasting 3+ months)
  • Healthy adults to act as control participants

What to expect:
Participation involves a single session, with a £30 payment provided for your time.

Why participate?
Your involvement will help advance the development of tailored VR-based therapies, supporting research into innovative pain management strategies.
