Marianne is an Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon at Musgrove Park Hospital, part of Somerset Foundation Trust. Her previous work in Emergency Surgery includes national cohort studies in including pancreatitis (PANC Study), gallbladder surgery (CholeS) and small bowel obstruction (NASBO), and randomised controlled trials (RCT) in patients undergoing laparotomy including fluid optimisation (FLOELA) and rectus sheath catheters for pain control (CAMELOT).
She is currently working on a follow up study for By-Band-Sleeve RCT, as well and projects into the to longer term outcomes of patients who have had pancreatitis.
Within the BRC, project development is focused on outcomes after laparotomy, and risk and outcomes of patients developing incisional hernias.
